Stephanie McCary

Director of Outreach (Anti-C)

Stephanie McCary serves as the Director of Engagement and Social Outreach for the Maternal Alloimmunization Foundation. She lives in Florida with her three sons and is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration at Florida State College at Jacksonville, following a 15-year career as a licensed dental hygienist.

Stephanie’s journey with maternal alloimmunization began in 2018 during her third pregnancy, when anti-C antibodies led to hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN). Throughout her pregnancy, she was reassured that her antibody was mild and unlikely to cause problems. But her son developed late anemia and dangerously high bilirubin levels — outcomes that caught even her doctors by surprise. While searching for answers and support, she joined a worldwide online support group, where she found the guidance and connection she had been missing.

With a background in dental hygiene and corporate recruiting, Stephanie brings a unique blend of compassion, communication, and organizational skills to her role. She also lives with autoimmune conditions, including celiac disease and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, which gives her a deep understanding of the emotional and physical toll of navigating complex health challenges. She is passionate about walking alongside families affected by maternal alloimmunization and is committed to offering the knowledge, encouragement, and support she once needed herself.
