EL-PFDD Meeting: Maternal Alloimmunization & HDFN Learn More

Our Story

We support families affected by maternal alloimmunization and HDFN by raising awareness, providing clear and compassionate education to both patients and healthcare providers, and advocating for better care throughout the entire journey—before pregnancy, during high-risk monitoring and treatment, and in the critical weeks and months after birth. Whether it’s sharing trusted information, building community, or pushing for stronger clinical standards, we’re here to stand beside families every step of the way.

Why We Founded MAF: Moms Helping Moms Through HDFN

What began as a few moms connecting through a worldwide online support group for women with antibodies (ISOMoms) became something bigger than we ever imagined. That online community gave us the knowledge, encouragement, and strength we needed, not only to survive our own journeys but to build something that could support others.

Each of our board members — Jessica, Mandy, Rhi, Stephanie, and Amy — has been directly affected by maternal alloimmunization and HDFN. With 22 living children between us, we represent a wide range of antibodies and lived experiences. Each of our journeys revealed different gaps in care and moments when we wished we had known more or felt empowered to do things differently. That perspective is at the heart of everything we do.

We launched this foundation to serve moms and babies, to give families the knowledge and confidence to advocate for themselves and their children, and to work toward a future where no more babies are harmed or lost to this disease.

Founded in 2021, we are the only patient-led, fully volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused solely on supporting alloimmunized women and babies born with HDFN. Every donation goes directly to helping families.

What We Stand For

Everything we do is guided by a deep commitment to connection, advocacy, and education so families and providers facing maternal alloimmunization and HDFN feel supported, informed, and never alone.

Community

We bring families together to share stories, support one another, and ensure no one faces maternal alloimmunization alone.

Hope & Advocacy

We believe in possibility and push for better care, clearer protocols, and a healthcare system that listens to families.

Clarity & Education

We break down complex information and empower both families and providers through accessible education and research.

Collaboration

We partner with providers, researchers, and organizations to improve care at every level.
